10th Grade Project

Civilization Benchmark

You’re never really sure how much preparation goes into running a society and building it from scratch until it’s assigned as a final benchmark project. This was the perfect project to be assigned during 10th grade because systems is the theme. When we were writing this project the one thing that we had to keep in mind was “define longevity for your civilization.” This project was completed by me and my friend Sophie two years ago. Here is a snippet of the finished product.

When thinking about longevity in relation to running a society you wonder what can be done to make it long-lasting. Your society always prospers depending on the quality your trading system, military system, and as well as your social system. Not only does the things listed above maintain the “longevity” of a civilization, but the culture and the pure attachment that people have for their “kind”. For example, today is society, africans stay true to their culture with all the music, beats, traditional foods, and the clothing. You’ll see many africans wearing the “boubou/bubu” dresses even when they live here, in america. That shows that their culture has not left them, even though they left the “original cultured” society.

The language will never burn out, therefore you will hear the original language of that nation, many decades after the fact. many things will “survive” throughout the time of that civilization, but a lot of things will come down to a silent pause. The people, for instance, will only survive if they have a good system-trading system, growth system, name any other system you would like. Just as long as they have food, and they are organized, they should be able to prosper and live a healthy life. For a large group of people living unitedly, though, you need organization -as mentioned before. But where can you get that type of leadership? Where can you find the direction needed in order to build up your nation to a strong empire?  The only way many other filthy rich, prosperous nations have arisen from the dirt- A leader. The term “leader” can be identified as various meanings. Some have instead said king, president, chief, or director. many ancient societies have had such a thing. Egypt, China, France, Ethiopia, and other countries that had leaders all wanted one thing- a powerful empire. They built cities, they traded wisely for riches, and for food. They slaved over building the most grand buildings and temples just to worship their main leader, their god. They did this day and night, and for what? To have the organization they needed to live, and to leave a mark in the world to show in whom they were. Every nation doesn’t want to be forgotten, instead they want to be remembered for how powerful, How rich, how traditional, and how blessed they were. Those are the things that make a civilization stay strong forever.
